The functions of descriptive text are :
1. To identify/acknowledge
2. To compliment
3. To promote
4. To be proud of

It also has structures, and there are 
1. Identification
A sentence in the firth paragraph containing important facts about the tourist spot: 
(1) the name and 
(2) the location 
the verb in the passive (present tense).

2. Characteristic
A sentence or sentences in the first and second paragraph containing all important facts about the tourist spot: 
(1) the condition and 
(2) the visiting time 
the verb in the present tense.

3. Function/benefit/activity
A sentence or sentences in the third paragraph containing all important facts about the subject of the tourist spot: 
Activity; Participle (present).

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur is one of historical buildings in Indonesia. It is considered to be the world’s largest Buddhist temple for its size (15129 m2) and height (34.5m). It is located in Magelang, Central Java. Not only it became a well known tourism destination to a lot of travelers around the world, Borobudur Temple is also included in UNESCO list of world heritage site.
Borobudur temple consists of six square floors and three circular floors which arranged accordingly and make it to be stair-like layers that you have to climb one by one to reach the top of the temple. In the middle of the floor, you will find small stairwell with couples of stairs connecting each floor that you can use as a passage to go to the top. On each level of the floor, there are a lot of relief panels and Buddha statues spread around it. Based on the data, there are 2.672 panels and 504 statues in total. There is a dome located on the top center of the temple and is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa. It is said that, if you place your hand into the stupa through one of its hole and you can touch the Buddha statue, you will be able to make one of your dream come true.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah


Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a recreational park that contains an overview of the culture of the archipelago. Here, you can see a miniature lake with islands of Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke. Not only that, there are many distinctive culture of each province in Indonesia that is exhibited here ranging from traditional dances, traditional clothes, houses of worship every official religions in Indonesia, various museums and others.

The construction plan begins from a meeting at the home of Suharto, the former president of Indonesia, on Jalan Cendana No. 8, Jakarta, on March 13, 1970. During the meeting, Siti Hartinah or more fondly known as Ibu Tien, wife of former President Soeharto proposed to be built a location that contains cultural tours to raise the pride of the people of Indonesia to the culture of the archipelago.

Then began the project a miniature of Indonesia 'Beautiful Indonesia under Yayasan Harapan Indah. Construction began in 1972 and on April 20, 1975, officially opened TMII. In 1991, created the mascot for the tourist attractions of this form of Hanuman puppet character named Nitra (Anjani Putra).
